I May Have Found My Niche

American Heritage dictionary defines pho·to·jour·nal·ism as:
Journalism in which a news story is presented primarily through photographs with supplementary written copy.

According to Wikipedia, Photojournalism is a particular form of journalism (the collecting, editing, and presenting of news material for publication or broadcast) that creates images in order to tell a news story.

I Fold!

Never again will packing a suitcase be problem. Not after this fine tip (all the way from Asia, no less). This deserves a double-take. After a few rewinds and replays, you'll come out folding like a pro - guaranteed!

Giant Girl Doll

In the most obscure fashion, somehow this Giant Girl Doll creation humbles me.

Diamonds Are A Parachuter's Best Friend

No longer are diamonds just a girl's best friend (and how boring would that be to have a "rock" as your confidant?). Diamonds are precious commodities in the skies - just ask these parachuters.

"Drumline" Copy-Cats?

For a minute there, I thought I was watching the movie Drumline, but a few blinks later, I realized it was the Hip Hop Drummers. This short take was acoustically performed in what appears to be an empty parking structure or warehouse. Turn up the volume to get the full effect.

Singing the Cookie Blues

Creative artists Jason Taylor and Lonnie Mack prove there's "no business like dough business" in this crooning sensation "Cookie Blues." Got milk?

The Real "Boy-Wonder"

Okay, if you've been following my posts you may have seen videos on a few dances and dancers such as "Evolution of Dance" (a one-man show) and "OK Go - Here It Goes Again" (a quadruple threat), but even if you aren't a fan of hip-hop or breakdancing, this is a must-see; a display of pure strength and creativity. "B-boy Junior" makes all professional gymnasts look like amateurs. Enjoy!

School, School, School...and More School

Guess what? School is just around the corner for me. In fact, this is my last weekend of vacation and then it's time to hit the books! Well, actually, I never really stopped hitting those books especially over summer vacation. I ended up taking two online classes in which I did quite well I might add. I was able to knock down quite a few courses over the Fall 2005 and Spring/Summer 2006 semesters. With a few more classes this Fall 2006 and then Spring/Summer 2007 semesters, I'm closer to (finally) transferring to Cal-State Fullerton. What a major accomplishment! So, I suppose I should enjoy myself to the fullest this weekend, right? That I will! Blog again on Monday! Have a great weekend y'all!

The Piano

I'm a fan of YouTube.com but sometimes the content is overkill. So, instead, I revert to Yahoo! videos which, of late, have proved to be interesting and entertaining. "The Piano" ranks up there with creativity and innovation.

Tag! I'm It!

Co-founder of the www.lawritersgroup.com and the author of :Verbs Via Ones and Zeros: tagged me! And so the revealing goes: 10 years ago... The twins, Aaron and Ariana, were born; Christopher had just turned one years old; Elysse was six. We were living with my parents at the time but soon moved out to live in a hideous, roach-infested shack for a week. What were we thinking? There were roaches everywhere: the kitchen, the floors, the bedrooms, in the cribs, bathrooms, the living room patchy carpeted-floors. Fearing that the roaches would eat my offspring alive due to lack of "garbage" in the house, we declared "ENOUGH WAS ENOUGH!" We migrated to the Anaheim area where we've remained since.

5 years ago... Living in Anaheim, working in Cypress for an insurance company, Steve and I awoke one morning to the nation's worst terrorist attack ever recorded: 9/11 Tragedies. The U.S. was under attack with fatalities from the crumbling World Trade Center and the Pentagon, along with an heroic take-down of an hijacked plane headed for the White House.

For several days, weeks, months and years thereafter, vivid images of the thousands of innocent lives lost, scrambling of people everywhere, nightmares of "What if" questions and "If only I had..." stories ring clear in our minds, frantic and desperate searches for loved-ones and the united and unanimous patriotic stand against terrorists become etched in our memories forever.

1 year ago... Our family took a trip to Steamboat Springs, CO for Christopher's travel ball Triple Crown World Series with his beloved Placentia Mustangs team. We clinched 4th place in the nation and Christopher came in 4th place in the Homerun Derby. Our drive to Colorado began on a good, high note until we took the turn at the fork in the rode. Our Dodge Caravan mini-van began to give us trouble and we cautiously drove all the way to Colorado on a wing and a prayer. (Fast forward to our trip home). We had to replace three out of four tires (the trip wiped us out...we were almost penniless then!), and one of them we replaced in Utah after we blew a tire on the road, and after a "Good Samaritan" stopped to lend Steve a hand to change a tire in the rain. I thought for sure he was some serial killer on the loose and we were all goners. Steve had to remind me that we were in Utah and the dude was probably some Mormon Missionary performing his good deed for the day! I laughed. Then our transmission began to give us heck. We took it to a small mechanic shop just outside of Steamboat Springs. He performed some sort of mechanic "wizardry" and soon we were on our way. We stopped in Vegas where my company and my immediate department was attending a convention. We hoped that "extra room" I booked for "emergencies" was available but as luck would have it (no pun intended as we were in Vegas!) we had to drive to stateline and stay at Whiskey Pete with the help of my brother, who searched for vacancies for us. After a few hours sleep, we were up ready for the long stretch home. My brother, the ever-so-faithful-in-a-crisis-brother, navigated us home with constant checks on traffic reports and road conditions. He must have been flying above us all the way home in his "invisible helicopter" because he sure knew exactly where we were at any given moment. Scary. Needless to say we managed to get home by 2:30 PM and believe it or not, Steve went in to work for a few hours!

What's Your Sign?

I found these two signs in the bathroom of a car dealership and I had to share them with you because they CRACKED ME UP!!!

Bittersweet Goodbyes

It was inevitable...the day would come when we had to say "goodbye" to our family from New York: Tony, Jennie and Joseph. Beforehand, we visited Chuck E. Cheese's in Anaheim, and made our way over to Downtown Disney to take in the music, sights, lights and shopping! The morning the New Yorkers were to return back east, we spent a few moments sharing hugs, kisses and pictures.

We MISS YOU TONY, JENNIE & JOSEPH!!!!

Filipino American Library

Hi All, I am posting a message from my cousin, Burt Bulos, as a favor for his friend, to promote the Filipino American Library. Please read the following information below. If you are interested in obtaining more information or would like to donate to the cause, please let me know ASAP.

*****************************
Hi Family and Friends,

I'm helping Fritz Friedman--Senior Vice President - Worldwide Publicity Columbia TriStar--a bit to help benefit the Filipino American Library. Fritz is Filipino and very active in the community. He is on the board of the FilAm Library.

They are holding THE FILIPINO AMERICAN LIBRARY GALA, on October 14th 2006. It is a dinner benefit gala which includes the 6th Annual Spirit Awards. It is a special celebration commemorating the 100 years since the first Filipino migrant workers arrived in America.

If you want to attend the Gala or simply want to make a tax deductible donation that will benefit the FILIPINO AMERICAN LIBRARY, let me know and I'll e-mail you the proper information.

Best,

Burt Bulos ************************ Please see the flyer below for more details:
